400;\">Von Juni 2019 bis zum M\u00e4rz 2020 w\u00fcteten in Australien die schlimmsten Buschfeuer, die das Land jemals erlebte. Noch w\u00e4hrend die Br\u00e4nde w\u00fcteten, erhielt sie ihren Namen: Black Summer \u2013 so auch der Titel von Matthew Abbotts Serie. Der \u00bbschwarze\u00ab Sommer hinterlie\u00df verkohlte Tiere mit schmerzverzerrter Mimik, Autos, die aussehen wie Kadaver, verkohlte W\u00e4lder und grotesk deplatzierte Swimmingpools.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Der Fotograf Matthew Abbott hat all das aus n\u00e4chster N\u00e4he auf eine Art fotografiert, dass einem der Atem stockt. Die Hitze scheint auf der Haut sp\u00fcrbar zu sein. Rauch und Qualm wirken schmerzhaft real. Seine Serie ist vom tiefen Mitgef\u00fchl f\u00fcr die Opfer der Katastrophe getragen, denn in den bis zu 100 Meter hohen Flammen starben 34 Menschen. Es verbrannten sch\u00e4tzungsweise 186.000 Quadratkilometer Land, knapp 6.000 Geb\u00e4ude und nahezu 3 Milliarden Tiere, auch aus Arten, die bereits vorher vom Aussterben bedroht waren. Dadurch sind Eisstr\u00f6me ein Symbol f\u00fcr den Klimawandel geworden.<\/p>\n<p>An vielen Orten sind Gletscher ein Wirtschaftsfaktor, insbesondere dort, wo sie f\u00fcr den Skitourismus von Bedeutung sind. Aus diesem Grund begannen 1993 an der Zugspitze im S\u00fcden Bayerns erste Versuche, einen Gletscher teilweise mit einer weissen Textilplane abzudecken. Diese Idee wurde auch f\u00fcr den Rhonegletscher \u00fcbernommen.<\/p>\n<p>Die mit rund 50.000 qm gr\u00f6sste Gletscherabdeckung der Schweiz dient dazu, das Abschmelzen der Gletscherzunge zu verlangsamen. Damit soll insbesondere die touristisch bedeutende Eisgrotte gesch\u00fctzt werden. Viele Familien sind deshalb auf Wasserlieferungen per Tankwagen angewiesen und zahlen bis zu zehnmal mehr als Bewohner, die an das st\u00e4dtische Wassernetz angeschlossen sind.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Um dieser Krise zu begegnen, hat der Umweltingenieur Abel Cruz eine einfache, aber innovative L\u00f6sung entwickelt: gro\u00dfe Maschennetze, die entlang der H\u00e4nge installiert werden und die Feuchtigkeit aus Limas dichtem K\u00fcstennebel auffangen. Wenn der Nebel durch das Netz str\u00f6mt, kondensieren winzige Tr\u00f6pfchen an der Oberfl\u00e4che und werden in Speichertanks geleitet, wodurch ein einzelner Nebelkollektor t\u00e4glich zwischen 200 und 400 Liter Wasser liefert.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Das Projekt bietet eine nachhaltige, kosteng\u00fcnstige und leicht \u00fcbertragbare L\u00f6sung f\u00fcr eine der trockensten Hauptst\u00e4dte der Welt und zeigt, wie eine unsichtbare nat\u00fcrliche Ressource zu einer Lebensader f\u00fcr Gemeinden am Rande der Stadt werden kann. Gegen eine geringe Geb\u00fchr k\u00f6nnen Dorfbewohner ihre Solarlampen, Mobiltelefone und Radios tags\u00fcber in einem abschlie\u00dfbaren Ladefach aufladen. Die Lampen k\u00f6nnen gemietet oder gekauft werden. Jeder Kiosk wird von einer Person vor Ort verwaltet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So entstehen nicht nur ein zuverl\u00e4ssiger Zugang zu sauberer Energie, sondern auch Arbeitspl\u00e4tze, lokales Fachwissen und eine langfristig tragf\u00e4hige Infrastruktur. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Es wurden bereits 72 Solarkioske gebaut, von denen die meisten heute in verschiedenen Regionen Ghanas im Einsatz sind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sandra Weller hat eine starke Bildsprache f\u00fcr ihre Fotoreportage zum Thema Klimagerechtigkeit gefunden.
