LORI NIX UND KATHLEEN GERBER

Lori Nix and Kathleen Gerber have been making art together for over 23 years – considering themselves faux landscapes photographers. In Cleveland, Ohio, they meticulously construct detailed models of living environments and photograph the results. This process transformes the fictional scene into a surreal space. Scale, perspective and the photographic document create a tension between the physical reality of the scene and the unreality about the narrative depicted. Stimulating the viewer's imagination the scenes reveal their complexity and openness to the audience.
