OPENING
We will be opening the RAW Photo Festival Worpswede on 3 October 2026 at 6 pm at the Altes Rathaus gallery, and we warmly invite you to join us in celebrating the start of the festival.

CONCEPT
Under the motto “Back to the Future”, we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the RAW Photo Festival Worpswede. In doing so, we are deliberately taking a different approach to the previous editions in 2020 and 2023. As with the first edition in 2016, RAW 2026 will focus on a few select venues under the motto “Small but mighty!” and will once again take place as a four-week festival in the autumn.
EXHIBITIONS
The past meets the future. This is an apt description of the exhibition itinerary marking RAW’s 10th anniversary.
We take a look BACK at the Altes Rathaus Gallery. Under the title “Director’s Choice: 50 Favourite Pieces”, we are showing works from the years 2016–2023. This retrospective is complemented by the photobook exhibition “Photographic Art to Browse Through” at the Philine-Vogeler-Haus.
The look into the FUTURE takes place under the title “Signs of Change” as an open-air exhibition on the Marcusheide. There, we present eight (inter)national perspectives on the themes of climate change and sustainability.

PROGRAMME
Accompanying events will offer opportunities for discourse and exchange with the participants. Planned formats include artist talks, guided tours, and weekly discussion rounds with participants from the festival years 2016 through 2026.

ENGAGEMENT
In addition to in-person events, there will also be digital offerings that enhance the exhibition experience and can be accessed via mobile phone, tablet or computer during the festival period – on site, on the move or even from home. So not just for visitors, but also for anyone unable to visit the exhibition in person.
