FESTIVAL CONCEPT AND DEVELOPMENT
- Since its inception in 2016, the RAW Photo Festival has developed into a major international photography festival, regarded as a ‘flagship project in the north-west’.
- The fifth edition returns to its roots and will take place in smaller venues, including the Altes Rathaus Gallery, the Marcusheide and the Philine-Vogeler-Haus.
- The theme ‘Back to the Future’ reflects both organisational and thematic aspects, looking back at the years 2016–2023 and focusing on climate change and sustainability.
EXHIBITIONS AND EVENTS
- Selected works from recent years will be presented at the Altes Rathaus Gallery.
- The open-air exhibition at Marcusheide addresses climate change, whilst the Philine-Vogeler-Haus will host a special exhibition on photobooks.
- The supporting programme includes artist talks, guided tours and panel discussions to encourage dialogue.
SUSTAINABILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY
- The festival prioritises local sourcing and sustainable practices, including climate-neutral promotional materials and recycling.
- Admission to the exhibitions and events is free to make photography more accessible.
